Digital Mammography

Florida Hospital's premier computerized mammography technology enhances the mammography image quality and sensitivity so the radiologist can more easily discern the subtle information of the mammogram, especially in dense breast tissue areas. The technology also decreases the radiation dose of the mammogram.

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)

Combining the highest level of patient comfort with less side effects than standard radiation therapy, IMRT is a highly accurate treatment that spares normal tissue, and is able to treat tumors near critical structures.

Positron Emission Tomography (PET-CT)

PET-CT imaging can often detect advanced breast cancer more accurately than conventional imaging. PET-CT scans for staging and restaging of patients with breast cancer and determines how they are responding to treatment. In breast cancer, PET-CT scanning is an addition, not an alternative to mammography.

R-2 Image Checker CAD System

Used to help radiologists read routine screening and diagnostic mammograms, this advanced system assists the radiologist by identifying areas that may warrant a second review. Florida Hospital Celebration Health is the only facility in Central Florida to have this technology, which carries an FDA approval for use in breast cancer screening.

Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy

This procedure allows surgeons to determine which lymph nodes are most susceptible to cancer and remove only those nodes. If the removed nodes contain cancer, the remaining lymph nodes are removed. The procedure often spares patients of the unnecessary removal of lymph nodes, making surgery less physically traumatic.
